2020 Meetings

 We meet monthly at noon on the third Thursday for lunch ($5.00) September through May in churches and agencies to get acquainted with the ministries in the downtown area and broader community. 
  • ​January 16, 2020: Salvation Army
  • February 20: Thrivent at Southgate Crossing, 27751 Co Rd 26, Elkhart--the Red Barn south of the intersection of Nappanee Street (Hwy 19) and US 20
  • March 19: Crossroads New Start Home at New Vision of Life Church, 400 W. Mishawaka Rd. Rescheduled due to concerns about coronavirus.
  • April 16: River District Development Project, First Presbyterian Church, 200 E Beardsley Ave, Elkhart. Canceled.
  • May 21: Triple P Parenting Program at CAPS, 1000 W Hively Ave, Elkhart. Canceled.
  • No meetings June, July, August
All fall 2020 meetings are on hold until the steering committee feels it's safe to gather again.
  • September 17: Rod Robinson, Mayor of Elkhart. ON HOLD
  • October 15: Crossroads New Start Home. Location TBA. ON HOLD
  • November 19: SPA Women's Ministry Home, 3404 Toledo Road, Elkhart ON HOLD
  • December 17: TBA ON HOLD

Our Mission: We are composed of Christian communities and other institutions working together...
  • To build and nurture wholesome communities downtown, communities of safety, support, and decent housing.
  • To bring together the widest possible group of religious, educational, neighborhood, business and political constituencies to foster these wholesome communities.
  • To establish shared ministries enhancing the quality of congregational and community life.
  • To seek concrete ways, plans, and programs to give expression to our vision.
We welcome everyone who desires to improve the quality of life downtown to join us.
