Sunday Worship

Our style of worship blends the best of contemporary and traditional styles, mixing together contemporary choruses as well as favorite old hymns. Sermons weave biblical stories with real-life experiences, meeting God at this intersection of the ancient and modern worlds.

  • We have a time of expressing our prayer concerns and joys of how God is working in our lives.
  • Everyone is welcome at the Table each week as we serve Communion.
  • We invite all ages to participate in worship, celebrating the gifts of children, youth, men, and women.
  • Although younger children may leave after the Children’s Dialogue for activities near the sanctuary, they are also welcome to remain in worship with families.

Sunday School

Our adult class studies various books of the Bible, from Revelation and the Gospels to Paul's letters and the Hebrew scriptures. Pastor Doug uses a conversational style of teaching, offering tidbits of history and theology while encouraging conversation, mixed with a bit of humor.

Our children learn using curriculum related to the scriptures used in worship, thereby extending the conversation on the same Bible story throughout the morning.

Worship Reflections (aka sermons) are designed to weave together the biblical stories of the past with our current lives of today. Weaving research on the historical setting of the biblical text and real life stories of today (mixed with a dash of humor) helps keep most listeners awake each week. See print or listen to audio samples. We use the Narrative Lectionary as a guide for planning, which helps us hear the biblical story from beginning to end each year using a four-year cycle.
